MARIEL LOZANO
Mariel Lozano is a Mexican architectural designer. She founded her studio in 2015 while living in Japan. Her perspective on design is strongly influenced by Japanese precision and aesthetics, shaped by the six years she spent living and working in Tokyo. This experience not only enriched her understanding of architectural principles but also cultivated a unique approach to design characterized by meticulous attention to detail and a deep appreciation for aesthetic harmony.
Her work ranges from small-scale residential projects to hotel and retail design. She holds a degree in Architecture from the Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey (Mexico) and a master's degree in Diagnosis and Intervention Techniques in Construction from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia. Mariel currently manages her studio from Barcelona, where she has been based since 2022.
STUDIO
Architecture and Interior Design practice founded in 2015. The studio specializes in retail spaces, residences, and hotels. Embracing the philosophy of “total design,” architecture and interior design are seamlessly integrated, envisioning each space as a cohesive whole, from the initial concept to the finest detail.
Every project presents an opportunity for close collaboration with skilled carpenters, blacksmiths, and textile artisans, resulting in bespoke furniture and objects that complement and enhance each space.
A profound research process precedes each project, involving an in-depth analysis of the context, history, and social significance of the space. This meticulous preparation creates spaces that evoke calmness, inspire, and add beauty to everyday life while also respecting and preserving the past.
