Intervening in the architecture conceived by Frida Escobedo was an extraordinary experience. In her vision, the Bacalar jungle was the central element, while her architecture aspired to be a silent frame from which the natural landscape could be contemplated.
The interior concept focuses on achieving a seamless coexistence between the furniture, finishes, and architecture itself, ensuring that this essential balance is undisturbed.
The final result is a composition where materials, objects, and furniture rest discreetly, allowing the true protagonists—the villas and the jungle—to take center stage.
Countless hours were spent contemplating every surface, fabric, and texture; sketching and revising. Days of experimentation and constant evolution of ideas followed. This creative process would not have been possible without the dedication of Rodrigo Juárez, Diego Alor, and the entire Boca de Agua team, who, immersed in the jungle, spent endless hours bringing these ideas to life.
